1、Act as a representative for the department and/or the departmental team in TRD project team. Support teams with strong quality awareness, scientific and technical expertise；
2、Lead, manage and support the departmental team(s) in line with Novartis values and behaviors. Build strong team spirit and promote knowledge exchange within and between teams, and across individual CDUs in Global CHAD；
3、Set directions, objectives and priorities for the team(s). Motivate and coach team members to achieve high performance, and grow to their potential. Contribute substantially to the performance review and appraisal for the team, and individual team members；
4、Foster a true culture of empowerment and innovation, diversity and inclusion, trust, high performance and continuous improvement mindset in the project team(s)；
5、Formulate a sound departmental project strategy including appropriate contingency planning and risk assessments (in line with overall project strategy elaborated by the TRD project team), involving departmental/functional experts and ensure alignment with other departments and functions inside and outside of TRD, and 3rd parties where appropriate；
6、Assess, consolidate and negotiate all resource needs and timelines for assigned projects within Chemical Development Unit；
7、Implement the approved departmental strategy for assigned projects. Ensure suitable composition of the CHAD project teams to support the assigned projects in cooperation with the CDU head；
8、Understand and proactively manage the interactions of project related activities between own department and other departments inside and outside of TRD, particularly the Global CHAD Supply Center function, ChemOps, and PHAD/IDD；
9、Ensure timely availability of agreed deliverables (e.g. goods, processes, analytical methods, documentation). Monitor project plans and resources (internal capacities, external costs, assigned project budget)；
10、Proactively communicate overall project strategy, key issues and any other critical topics in a timely manner to the appropriate management level, to the TRD  project leader  and/or to any other relevant project team member(s)；
11、Represent own department in Due Diligence teams and provide quality assessment of potential in-licensing products in a timely manner and support follow-up activities as appropriate；
12、Act as an active senior member of the global home department. Contribute to decision making that impact goals, objectives and strategies of the department；
13、Identify need and opportunity for outsourcing. Provide input to contracts and QA-agreements with 3rd parties and lead outsourced tasks / projects with 3rd parties as appropriate.

1、Broad experience (approx. 5 years) in TRD department (e.g. several years of experience as head of laboratory or at least 3 years in more than one departmental line func-tion) including at least 2 years as member of departmen-tal  project team or equivalent experience from external company or other line function；
2、Regularly demonstrated active contributions to line func-tion or TRD-subteam(s) as well as ability to contribute to matrix teams with the necessary strategic thinking, quali-ty awareness and implementation skills；
3、Proven track record in successfully leading interdiscipli-nary teams, e.g. scientists working on technical or me-thodological projects (incl. budget control), in TRD or equivalent experience from external company or other line function；
4、Fundamental understanding of quality standards and pol-icies；
5、Computer literacy (e.g. MS Office, document manage-ment systems) demonstrated along with readiness to learn new systems (e.g. Succeed software as appropriate, MS-project) and associated processes.
